Starting an Activity

When the participant has chosen an activity, the Coordinator selects a volunteer from those available whose age, gender and interests will make a good match with the participant and calls to propose the activity.  The Coordinator also communicates with the Activity Leader to introduce the TIES program and assess what additional accommodations may be needed.

Once the arrangements are made, the Coordinator develops an individual support plan for each participant, which contains the essential information about the activity and serves as a guide for the volunteer’s efforts.  Finally, the Coordinator monitors and evaluates the ongoing activity through communication with all parties.
